End of 2nd Trimester

I can't believe how quickly this year is going by!  We have already come to the end of the second trimester (our third one is definitely growing in length with all these snow days... Come On Spring!!!)  Your student will be bringing home their report card on Wednesday, March 4th.  Please review this with them and feel free to contact me with questions about them as well.  If you would also sign and return their envelope that would be great.  I hope you have all enjoyed a little extra time with your kiddo during these cold snowy days.

We had a blast last week with our P.J. party equipped with a movie and Valentine's games.  I need to be better about taking pictures during those times, but things get a little crazy.  Here are a few pictures from a chance we had to work with some Kindergarten students playing a math game.  Enjoy them!

Latest Learning
Reading: Finished our the story, Chinatown.  Beginning to work on A Trip to the Fire Station.  Working on drawing conclusions in our reading, sequencing a story, and identifying basic structure of a story.  Kids have also been enjoying working on building fluency, making connections, asking and answering questions about books at their level in their book clubs.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentine's Day from our Room to you!

We had a great week in our room.  This teacher definitely learned a lesson this week: Rubber band bracelets are for the birds.  We managed to get one made for everyone by 3:05, but it ate up our party time.  We didn't get a chance to do our party games, so when we celebrate that we met our goal later on this week we will get a chance to play a couple games as well.  Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day!

We Love 2 READ!!!!
(especially with our first grade buddies)

We Made it Through January

Happy 100th day!  We are 100 days smarter!!!!!

And 100 days more silly!
OuOur Valentine’s Day Party will be on Friday, February 13th from 1:30 – 2:10. We will be making our Valentine cardholders at school. Each child will need to bring in an empty cereal box that we will decorate here at school! It is not required that your child brings Valentines; however, if your child does, please have them bring one for each student in our class! We do not want any feelings to be hurt!
